Sylvia Lyons, RLA, ASLA
Landscape Architect
Royal Oak Design was founded in 1987 by Sylvia E. Lyons. Sylvia is a licensed Landscape Architect in California (RLA #1549) with over 35 years experience in commercial, industrial, residential, and recreational projects. She earned a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona. For 14 years prior to starting her own practice, she worked for two well-established Orange County firms focusing in design, coordination, and plan preparation for numerous parks and other governmental projects — as well as housing developments, restaurants, business parks, and private residential designs.
Jocelyn Sia, RLA, ASLA, LEED Green Associate
Landscape Architect
Jocelyn Sia joined Royal Oak Design in 2011. She is a licensed Landscape Architect in California (RLA #6649) with over 15 years of experience in landscape architecture. She is a graduate of the Landscape Architecture program at Cal Poly, Pomona. Her studies included a year abroad at the University of Kyushuu in Fukuoka, Japan, studying urban and regional planning, ecological restoration, and environmental issues; and an additional month-long program at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana, studying the impact of plant material on the environment and economy. Originally from the San Francisco bay area, she has experience working on residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the state.
